Kyle Markland 

Chief Executive Ally

I started Kyle the Ally with the vision that artists should have a trustworthy and knowledgeable service they can turn to for help promoting their music. I studied algorithm design at MIT, which gives me a unique perspective on music marketing. My data-centric approach allows me to see trends and opportunities where others can't, enabling me to deliver optimized solutions to every client. 

I've been passionate about music ever since I picked up a bass for the first time when I was 10 years old. Over the years, music has taken me on a journey, performing on the stages of dive bars, Carnegie Hall, and everything in between. I focus my creative efforts on my solo project Lenseye.

I turned to Meta Ads to promote my first solo album, September’s Child, in the summer of 2020. While promoting the album, I learned an incredible amount about using Facebook and Instagram as advertising platforms for music. I also learned how daunting promoting your own music with Meta Ads can be, especially if you have minimal experience. There were many times where I wished there was someone with expert experience I could ask for help whenever I got stuck. At the same time, all of the other music promotion “services” felt cold and impersonal at best, or like complete scams at worst. Now, all of this experience has prepared me to be that expert ally for other musicians.

Fun Facts About Kyle

  • My favorite color is magenta (if you couldn’t tell already).
  • I began my journey in music playing classical double bass in orchestras.
  • I built my own electric bass, which now defines Lenseye's signature sound.
  • My other hobbies include auto racing and running.
  • When I was in high school, I started a popular robotics YouTube channel called “Builderdude35.”

Conor Riccomini 

Associate Ally

I met Kyle in a youth orchestra in high school and we have been lifelong friends since. I have a Master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor’s degree from the Mannes School of Music. My experience as a performer in the greater NYC area gives me a unique perspective on crafting audiences for advertising campaigns.

I entered the world of digital advertising when Kyle started helping my band, Vicious Summer, run ads for our projects. I took a strong interest in the process and some time afterwards, Kyle invited me to join Kyle the Ally as an Associate Ally, where I now help deliver ad campaigns for clients and conduct internal research to advance our understanding of the Meta Ads platform.

Christian Scarlett

Associate Ally

I met Kyle while playing in the MIT Symphony Orchestra (maybe you’re noticing a pattern here?). Since then, we’ve worked together on a number of music projects, united by our passion for House and Drum & Bass music. My musical roots are in upright bass and alto saxophone, but I’ve since developed a passion for creating and promoting all kinds of music.

My background is in software engineering, which I apply to the technical and creative aspects of my work as an Associate Ally. I use my understanding of data analysis to track and optimize ad performance in addition to building custom analytics tools for Kyle the Ally.

When I’m not building apps or managing campaigns for Kyle the Ally, you can find me making EDM.
